I mastered the ancient wall design techniques of Venetian Plaster and Secco which were the ways the Great Roman Empire’s most imposing castles, palaces and temples were decorated, using rich marble dust as the main media. I took my devotion for these noble techniques and gently married them with classic figurative painting; the outcomes are everlasting masterpieces with rich texture of marble dust and royal elegance of pearl dust, gold, Swarovski crystals and/or precious gem stones.

When I paint I feel in meditation. The outside of me disappears, my mind quietens. I stop thoughts and enjoy the emotions I feel. When I paint it feels so much alike being in love, it is pure and positive, it is giving and receiving. What I give is my focus, my attention, my self, which creates beauty through textures, colours and shapes.
What I receive is the joy of being in the process where a 100 years old canvas, silky oak, marble powder, smooth paint, sparkly pearl all shape up to become a tale, a feeling, a message which will permanently remain a precious part of someone’s home.

If I close my eyes I can recall all the paintings from my childhood that my parents, their friends and our relatives displayed in their homes. As a child I spent hours staring at them and trying to figure out what had happened in the story of the painting. Every single one of them was an individual miracle to me. Since I can paint my own paintings I want to give the same feelings and joy to those who are looking at them.

Gabriella started painting in the United States in 2003. Soon after she became a member of Art Landscape Co., working on decorative faux finishes in New York and New Jersey States. She enjoyed the process of creating a showroom in Rockland Design Center, Suffern-Montebello, N.Y. and exhibiting on Home Shows in the New York State/New Jersey area.
Although this is no longer her main profile, she still loves interior design, and creates faux finishes for private clients.

Since 2007 she lives and works in London/Edinburgh.

Currently, she is in collaboration with other Visual Artists, Marketing and Sales Professional who launched a project for Visual Artists from all around the world. The aim is to create a unique collection for the United Arab Emirates market.

I greatly enjoy organising the project, facing challenges and solving them in order to make the project a remarkable success.
